Ok. I confess. I like reading True Crime.

I like to read this every now and then. I really like British stuff from 20s and 30s, particularly things like Rattenbury/Stonor case, Wallace Case, Croydon Poisoning. The last one I read was Murder at Wrotham Hill. I love to find out the incidental details you pick up about the society of the time and the inner dynamics of the relationships of the people involved; their carefully hidden secrets and peccadilloes. Anyone else care to share recommendations? Or am I a lone sicko?

Try Handsome Brute by Sean O connor or Midnight in Peking by Paul French.

Thank you. Handsome Brute is Neville Heath I believe? Will get that. I listened to Midnight in Peking as audio book. I agree. That was a a time I knew nothing about in that country. Fascinating. Absolutely fits the criteria. Unusual characters, culture, history and society.
