Have money - want to buy books

Have christmas money to spend and want more books.
I like autobiographies as long as they are funny/witty.
Fiction books have to be funny or thrillers.

Erm anything practically except slushy romances or chicklit. And nothing too heavy or serious (I get enough of that reading for my course)

Any ideas? Anything fantastic about?

how about the new Ian Rankin (Naming of the Dead) or the new Bill Bryson (Life and Times of the Thunderbolt Kid). You should be able to pick them up half price from WHS or Waterstones.

ooh I'd forgotten about Bill BRyson.
Ian Rankin sounds worth a look.

(am out of touch - have no idea what is about these days )

Sparkle Hayter, Janet Evanovitch - funny crime.
Phil Rickman - great procedural thrillers with a supernatural twist. 'December' is a good one to start with, bloody scary though.
Best two books I've read this year are Time Traveller's Wife (standby for tissues) by Audrey Niffenegger and Shadow of the Wind by Carlos Ruiz Zafon.
Hound Dog by Richard Blandford is side-achingly funny if you have a very strong stomach and are not easily offended.
