Following on from the other thread, which books did you hate with a passion? I'll start with The Accidental by Ali Smith, and also Mr Golightly's Holiday by Sally Vickers. Both appallingly awful books, IMO. Next...

batters - with you on captain corelli's banjo, couldn't get going on that at all. This week I got a copy of "The Devil wears Prada" from the charity shop, and I'm storming through it! Its funny and well written IMO. It helps that I'm a sucker for shoes and handbags myself, but the best thing about it is that the author supposedly has based it on the behaviour of the editor of Vogue. So terrible its fantastic to read about....

Da Vinci Code, but then I did read it before all the hype so didnt know what it was about. At the end I thought in a kind of religious way "what a load of blasphemous shite, this book should be banned"
