...is this basically a rehash of her first book and the weaning book? I have both of those and want to know whether to bother buying this one for new info or whether it just repeats.

I thought the weaning book was really good and I sort of dipped in and out of the other one, thought it was a bit strict (you MUST start the bath at 5.37pm PRECISELY or you are doomed etc) but reckon she does give good advice.

Thanks in advance

Hi Oliveoil,

its Contented baby to Confident Child, and it's basically a problem solving book, divided into various different areas - sleep, feeding etc - and covers the ages from baby to toddler. There's a good section on potty training - not that we are ready for that yet thank goodness - and having read the CLBB cover to cover, I actually found a lot of interesting, additional stuff in this one - especially useful if you have had problems with your baby 'conforming' to the very strict routines in the first one - as we did - this one seems to have more background info.

Thanks for that response pumpkin2, think I may add the book to my GF collection, I also have the potty one in readiness .

Anyone else? I will NOT have a thread with only 2 posts on it!!

Hi Oliveoil, I though CLBB was great (and it worked - I swear DS had read the book when I tried out the routines on him!) so I rushed out and bought CB to CC and was really disappointed. IMO it's just a rehash and a bit of common sense. I much prefered Toddler Taming by someone or other Greene for problem solving.

Hi Oliveoil, we used the CLBB with great results for DS, but when I went to look at the CBCC I too was very disappointed. For really sound practical advice I can highly recommend the What to Expect - toddler years 'bible'.

I have the Toddler Taming one, thought that was good as well.

On second thoughts, think I will leave this GF book then, does seem a bit of a rehash methinks.

Thanks!

oliveoil - I found it a useful book, but not a "keeper and referrer", if you know what I mean. Perhaps see if you can order in a copy at your local library?
