So far, I have loved The Paying Guests, Christmas Carol (narrated by Tom Baker), Pompeii by Robert Harris. Also non-fiction Pompeii by Mary Beard and Born to Run. HATED Harry Quebert affair as badly-written, sexist tripe and also a cheapy Northanger Abbey download with a really clangy narration- should have forked out for the Juliet Stevenson narration. Wondering what next and any alternative sites to Amazon/audible?

I think I might get this one too. I enjoyed the quirkiness of When God Was A Rabbit, so have hopes that this one will be as enjoyable.

If anyone is wondering what to use a credit on and needs something that will make you cry helplessly with laughter, I can recommend Sue Perkins's autobiography Spectacles. Am about half way now and it's brilliant.

Can you buy the Audible deal of the day without having a subscription?

Grifone · 25/03/2016 08:26

You have to be a member Jujuheyhey.

Grifone · 27/03/2016 07:36

SPQR by Mary Beard is today's Daily Deal at £1.99 😊

Quogwinkle · 27/03/2016 12:25

Just bought that, Grifone :)

I got very excited when I saw it as it was on my wish list and even more so as I had just claimed my £10 listening rewards voucher.

whatamidoinghereanyway · 27/03/2016 18:01

Grifone, I bought three books with 3 credits and still haven't got my voucherConfuseddid they email you?

Grifone · 27/03/2016 18:05

Yes about two weeks ago and I had until the 29th to redeem it. If you haven't received it yet I would contact audible. I have always found their customer service excellent.

Movingonmymind · 27/03/2016 18:10

Also not got my voucher. Hmm

Thanks grif, I'll contact them, completely agree their customer service is second to none!!

Grifone · 27/03/2016 19:15

Just checked and I got the email from Audible on the 11th March If that helps.

brittanyfairies · 28/03/2016 18:31

To those of you who recommended Company of Liars thank you so much, the narration was excellent and I thoroughly enjoyed the story.

redhat · 30/03/2016 12:19

Ive just listened to the girl in the red coat (for free from the library). Really good.

Grifone · 01/04/2016 16:35

Has anyone listened to H is for Hawk by Helen McDonald? It is on Audible's monthly deal for £4.99 and I am tempted.

insan1tyscartching · 01/04/2016 18:54

I'm currently listening to Coffin Road and enjoying it very much.

QuimReaper · 01/04/2016 19:39

Lacemaking

Quogwinkle · 01/04/2016 20:59

Grifone - I loved H is for Hawk. I used a credit for it and thought it was wonderful. Helen MacDonald reads it superbly. Well worth £4.99. Definitely recommended.

Grifone · 03/04/2016 08:29

Thanks Quog I think I will go for it. Robert Macfarlane's Landmarks is also on offer - it was one of my favourite books of last year. Am I the only one who didn't previously know that Audible do monthly deals at £4.99?

Quogwinkle · 03/04/2016 17:24

I think the Audible monthly deals is a new thing this year. I miss the 2 for 1 deals though. I haven't seen them for ages.

Collymollypuff · 03/04/2016 17:30

Shamelessly marking my place. Ta.

Grifone · 03/04/2016 20:02

They had a 2 for 1 deal in early February Quog so we are probably due one again fairly soon.

I have just finished Murder on the Orient Express read by David Suchet and it was wonderful.

Greengagesummer · 05/04/2016 17:44

Hi newbie here...can anyone explain the 3 credits/£10 voucher thing? I joined in Feb & have used 3 credits since then.
Thank you

Grifone · 07/04/2016 12:36

Hi Greengagesummer . Occasionally Audible do different deals, one of which is to use three credits within a specific time frame to earn a £10 listening rewards voucher which you can then use towards towards new books or credits. Another deal they sometimes do is buy 2 books for 1 credit from a selected choice. I try to accumulate a few credits so I can optimise on these deals when they are live. They also do Daily Deals where you can pick up some books form .99p to 2.99.
