I am trying to find a book I read about 10 years ago. I have recently read Me before you and it reminded me of this book and I desperately want to read it again. However I cannot for the life of me remember the name.
I can only remember a few details:
*the book is about two childhood sweethearts (boy and girl)
*they both go off in different directions in life.
*the girl has a child, which I think is a boy.
*the boy leaves her a letter which is never given to her
*when they are both in old age he turns up out of the blue in her doorstep and they live happily ever after.
I can remember the book itself being rather thick with a red cover. I cannot remember the author otherwise Google would have been my friend for this, I also cannot remember the characters names.
Sorry if that does not give you a lot to go on but any suggestions are much appreciated.
