has anyone read this? i've just more or less devoured it in a day - it's fantastic but I was also really upset by it. Wondering whether anyone else has read and wants to discuss! I feel I need to get rid of some thoughts about it....

No, but you've whetted my appetite. I have LOVED her other books so i'm off to buy it. I love the way she is so psychologically insinuating, and travels into quite deadly taboo areas, with spare dry writing style,

Ooh I just bought it in Tesco on the strength of this. No time to read it now but will have done by the time we get back from holiday on the 1st June!

I have just read Brick Lane, and also read the Julie Myerson book last summer - both I found extremely vivid and moving, and I'd like to discuss them more...
