The Other Ark ... has anyone else got/read this book recently??!

I bought my DC "The Other Ark" by Lynley Dodd recently. It seemed like a brilliant concept with endless opportunity to entertain and not dissimilar to the Dr. Seuss books. I was reading it to the DD's and I got the rhythm of the words and was hitting my stride and we were all really enjoying it and then it ended ... so very, very abruptly and in a totally ambiguous manner. The DD's asked me what the last page meant and I was a bit stuck as I wasn't entirely sure myself

If anyone else knows this book, could they please tell me whether the animals on Ark 2 were made extinct because the incompetent bloke took so long to fill it that there was no more water left but also no food so they starved to death ... or what?!!

I don't have the answer but I know what you mean. A very abrupt ending.

I think they stick fast and all drown when the flood comes.

We were given this and I'm at my wit's end about how to deal with this!

What a very odd book.

Starts off really well though don't you think? Maybe I should try and find an email address and contact the author ... they shouldn't allow books like that should they ... what are poor tired parents supposed to do at the end of the day when they are beseiged with questions at bedtime story time and they can't answer as they don't get it themselves - I ask you

Yes, it's a great book otherwise! I'm trying to work out a happy ending - luckily dd1 is a long way off reading....
