I enjoyed it too - what aspects of it did you like? That may make it easier to recommend other books

ambercat · 05/11/2015 15:27

Still Alice by Lisa Genova. Similar themes to Elizabeth is missing but much better!

G1veMeStrength · 05/11/2015 15:30

There was one with a woman who had lost her memory and was writing herself notes about her husband, ironically I have forgotten what it was called though...

G1veMeStrength · 05/11/2015 15:31

Oh yes and I loved Still Alice too.

BitOfFun · 05/11/2015 15:31

Before I Go To Sleep?

G1veMeStrength · 05/11/2015 15:31

Also there was one I read with a sort of time repeating thing. That was v good.

thunderbird69 · 05/11/2015 19:03

Still Alice is excellent and also by Lisa Genova; Left Neglected.

Turn of Mind by Alice LaPlante is another one about dementia and a mystery.

I also enjoyed Rubbernecker by Belinda Bauer. Mystery, possible murder, aspergers.

Thank you for the suggestions.

I liked the characters - particularly the relationship between Maud and her daughter - and the slight element of mystery (I don't like traditional / scary thrillers but this was good)

I'd recommend

The Shock of the Fall - Nathan Filer

and Poppy Shakespeare

TheKitchenWitch · 07/11/2015 20:54

War Crimes For The Home by Liz Jensen

Optimist1 · 07/11/2015 21:03

The Vanishing Act of Esme Lennox by Maggie O'Farrell

JamJar1 · 07/11/2015 21:06

You may want to check out this one, A Man called Ove by Fredrik Backman.
I read it straight after finishing Elizabeth is Missing.

TheKitchenWitch · 07/11/2015 21:07

Yy to the Esme Lennox one too!

scarednoob · 07/11/2015 22:14

I loved that book do much, I stalked the author on Facebook to tell her so! She said she is working on her second.

Try "the ice twins", "her" and "I let you go". Similar in terms of psychological thriller; female lead; v suspenseful and page turning twists! The twist in "I let you go" is outstanding.

BitOfFun · 07/11/2015 22:40

Oh yes, that one impressed me very much. It got a bit chick-litty at one point, but pulled it back.

BrendaandEddie · 08/11/2015 08:20

I let you go is a bit crap I think

BitOfFun · 08/11/2015 13:36

Well, it's uneven, and it was never going to be great literature, but it is very definitely a pageturner- I think I read it in one evening.

andantecantabile · 09/11/2015 19:22

I really liked the Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry and it sprung to mind when I read what you liked about Elizabeth is Missing (which I also loved).

WhataRacquet · 13/11/2015 23:51

I think you might like Major Pettigrew's Last Stand.
