So I've read and loved a eco parenting book (The No-Nonsense Guide to Green Parenting by Kate Blincoe) and want to get it for a friend who is expecting. BUT do you think you can ever buy a parenting book for someone without it looking like you are criticizing them?! She is interested in nature and not being consumerist, and the book it totally not preachy, but really don't want to look like I am telling her what to do. Am i over-thinking this?! x

Sounds perfect as it's something she's interested in! And if it's her first she has yet to be sick of/sensitive about any kind of parenting book! Wink

I never recovered from having a Gina Ford thrust at me when I had a colicky baby (who was never going to follow a schedule). It just stressed me out way more and I had to pretend to be grateful and say he was sleeping really well when ever I saw them, he he. That said, I've just looked this book up and it looks lovely (photos and a magazine layout def good when you've got a newborn). I say go for it!
