I am on maternity leave (due on 13 November), and would like some recommendations for nice easy to follow books. Preferably ones I can get cheaply in paperback. I like Jilly Cooper and Marian Keyes.

Louise Bagshawe, Tasmina Perry, Sophie Kinsella
All kinda trashy beach reads but decent stories.

Fiona Walker, if you like Jilly Cooper's countryside/horsey/county set stuff. Particularly French Relations, Well Groomed and Kiss and Tell.

Jackie Collins - easy to read, well written, can be a little racy, good stories

James Patterson - not chick lit, but chapters tend to be short and I find his books very easy to read. He does a variety of genres including detective and darker subjects. Very good books.

Jeffrey Archer - I really enjoy his books and get engrossed in them. They tend to be political or business themed, and well written.
