Someone gave this book to me, and I slogged through (don't think I've ever not finished a book). But UGH. Not my cup of tea at all and really didn't enjoy it. There was a bit of redemption at the end, but honestly, the whole story seemed to me like unconvincing, pointless, unrealistic self-destruction.

It was a very stark, brutal book with redemptive end. I can't say I liked it, but was a different book.
