Hiya,

My fianc?? seriously needs to relax!

I'm thinking reading might be a good method.

He has enjoyed a few John Grisham books in the past and really enjoyed them. I'm not sure which ones though. Are they independent stories? Or do they come in a series?

Also, can you recommend anything similar he might like?

I think the JG books are a mix of independent and series. Fantastic fiction is a good website for seeing books in series order.

I like John Grisham and also Harlan Coben is similar. My DP loved the CJ box Joe Pickett books. The main character is a game warden. The books are often 99p on Kindle.

That's great, thank you

You could look at Scott Turow and Michael Connelly too.

Really love John Grisham.

James Patrerson is also good.

Used to love his books then found out he's a paedophile apologist.

Put me off him in a big way and I won't put money in his pocket any more.

Bellyrub1980 · 13/09/2015 00:17

What is a paedophile apologist?

Thanks for all the suggestions x

Someone who defends paedophiles. Eg he has outright said that people who look at child porn are not necessarily paedophiles Hmm

Angry

Lilacspunkmonkey - same here - have read most of his earlier books - seen him being interviewed - always seemed thoughtful and intelligent but when he came out with that nonsense I refused to read anything more by him.

LilacSpunkMonkey · 14/09/2015 22:16

Doesn't do it for me.

Just makes me think he doesn't want to lose readers.

Why make the comments in the first place? Would he have apologised had he not been challenged on it?

Too little, too late.

dalek · 14/09/2015 23:04

I remember at the time that someone much more perceptive than me made the point that his comments showed that his friend was looking for underage girls and was pissed off that he had somehow been shortchanged because the girls were women about 30! There are no excuses.
