I loved both those books.

What about some of the Kate Atkinson books? Not the Jackson Brodie ones, but Life After Life or Behind the Scenes at the Museum? They're not the same, but sort of whimsical.

Maybe The Buried Giant, by Kazuo Ishiguro?

I agree with the Kate Atkinson Life after Life. Try 'The Hours of the Night' by Sue Gee. Or 'A Year of Wonders' by Geraldine Brook, they are two of my favourites :-)

I loved both those books, I've also really liked Perfect by Rachel Joyce and I'm halfway through Elizabeth is missing by Emma Healey -so far so good.

I am right now reading The Hare with Amber Eyes - really enjoyable.
I agree with Perfect - really enjoyed that too.
