No

Halifordian · 02/06/2015 19:44

I hated it too.

Stradbroke · 02/06/2015 19:45

I loved it.

AgentProvocateur · 02/06/2015 19:45

Me too. Although I did finish it.

I liked it. How far are you?

Mrsmorton · 02/06/2015 19:51

Hated it.

ConcreteElephant · 02/06/2015 19:51

Urgh. No. Really didn't enjoy this.

HopefulHamster · 02/06/2015 19:55

It gets better by the end, or at least I was able to get something out of the experience, but was it worth it? Not sure.

southeastdweller · 02/06/2015 19:57

No. One of the most overrated books of the past few years. I regret paying for it.

LondonHuffyPuffy · 02/06/2015 20:04

I hated it too. Will never get those hours of my life back.

StandoutMop · 02/06/2015 20:04

I was given this as a present and read it in an afternoon. Not sure if I enjoyed it or not, but I found it easy to read and get through. Think probably the set-up created more hype than the book deserved.

almondfinger · 02/06/2015 20:17

Read this for book club. What a pile of rubbish. I couldn't wait to finish it. Others in the club absolutely loved it. It's one for the charity bag.

almondfinger · 02/06/2015 20:18

P.S. it was so memorable I had to look it up on Amazon to see what it was about!

ChrisQuean · 02/06/2015 20:19

What HopefulHamster said. I finished it and thought it was poetically written but didn't wow me.

YouMeddlingKids · 02/06/2015 20:19

I enjoyed it, but I don't think it gets any better as it goes on, so if you don't like it I wouldn't bother. Life is too short!

Costacoffeeplease · 02/06/2015 20:19

Loathed this with a passion, and gave up, don't regret it, cut your losses and move on!

DefinitelyMaybeBaby · 02/06/2015 20:22

I loved it, then gave it to DH and he hated it! it definitely seems to be a real crowd-splitter.

Judydreamsofhorses · 02/06/2015 20:24

I gave up midway through. Life is too short for books you don't love.

ataposaurus · 02/06/2015 20:26

I found this easy to read and promising at the outset, but the main character was intensely irritating and self obsessed so I gave up on it - agree it was way too hyped!

Pumble · 02/06/2015 20:26

It took me a while to get into it but once I did I really enjoyed it.

EllenJanethickerknickers · 02/06/2015 20:26

I got through it because it was my book club book. Not worth it, otherwise but led to some interesting discussions at book club, (after copious wine. Wink )

TobleroneBoo · 02/06/2015 20:27

I didn't like it at all

TheDeafeningClatterofDuplo · 02/06/2015 20:39

Didn't think the writing was much good but not a bad story. If you're not into it, I'm not sure I would bother... I just found it a quick and easy read.

GetHappy · 02/06/2015 20:47

Oh definitely won't continue now thanks folks. i heard glowing reviews prior to reading and thought that i was seriously unappreciating a good book!
