Can anyone help me with the name of a book?

I read a book a few years ago that was set on a farm in Canada. The narrator was looking back on her teenage years remembering a guy that came to work on the farm. She was jealous and thought that her mother was involved with the guy but he was actually having an affair with her brother, who had a name like Bryan or Byron. There was a fire involved somehow. I usually have a good memory for names and trying to remember this is bugging me so much.

That rings a bell. I think I may have downloaded it onto my kindle because it was a deal of the day. I'll have a look later.

Wasn't it someone's first novel?

It wasn't an old book-published after 2005 for sure. It was kind of Sue Miller/Jane Urquhart style writing. If you find it I will be eternally grateful.

Was it "After River" by Donna Milner?

Thank you so much, Allalonenow. I just looked on amazon and that is it. The brother's name was Boyer. I would never have found it as Donna Milner didn't come up when I searched for Canadian authors.
