Anyone interested in this? To discuss and recommend books that help you navigate the world of work. I've never actually been in a book club so don't know if it should be one book at a time. My recommendations are:
Nice girls don't get the corner office
and
Hardball for Women.

Off to bed now but will return tomorrow

Both the above are American but still relevant. Nice girls is a great one to start with as it is so easy to read, there a quiz at the beginning and that points you towards which bits are relevant to you. Each point is a page or two and explains what subconscious things you might be doing and why they undermine you, e.g. nodding during a conversation to show you are listening, the other person thinks this means you agree and is unhappy when you later disagree.

what does it mean by 'the corner office'? does it mean the desk in the corner?

is it a book about being nice or toughening up? i'm interested.

Toughening up lol. The corner office is aspirational, doncha know - windows on at least two sides - bigger, spacious.
I have yet to find a self help guide aimed at women in business that advocates being 'nicer'.
