Has anyone read this massive book? If you are interested in art you won't get a much more in depth insight into an artist. It is described by the Van Gogh Museum as the definitive biography. I would love to hear views of anyone who has read it. It is by Steven Naifeh ang Gregory White Smith. Their last collaboration was on Jackson Pollok and won the Pullitser prize. It presents a portrait of this wonderful artist in a way that was different from the Lust for Life portrayal. The first part can seem so detailed as to drag but it soon gets into its stride. It is so different to what I expected that I would love to hear from anyone else who has an opinion. I have reached pages 700 plus and still have another 170 to go.
