Can anyone please recommend an easy reading book, by this I mean something I can easily get into the characters, read a couple of chapters and then pick up two weeks later and continue reading without having to work out what's happening.

I like Marian Keyes for that sort of reading - funny, with likeable characters but still interesting and no complicated plots.

Thanks for your reply - I will look into Marian Keyes. Obviously any other ideas are still welcome.

The Strangeling's Tale
It's easy to dip in and out of, as it's a load of different stories that come together at the end IYSWIM.

Tulip Fever by Deborah Moggach or Me Before You by Jojo Moyes.

Would you like short stories perhaps? If so, I would recommend Joanne Harris's Jigs and Reels or the book I'm reading atm which is Nocturne by Kazuo Ishiguro. Or perhaps The Empty Family (think that's the title of) by Colm Toibin.

Nina Stibbe's love nina is easy to devour. She is witty and in parts hilarious. Lighthearted and laugh out loud. I'm reading her second one called man at the helm, and enjoying that too.

Private Peaceful by Michael Morpogo.

I'm reading Fatty O'Leary's Dinner Party. Very easy reading, am thoroughly enjoying it Smile

I've just read the most brilliant book - The House We Grew Up In by Lisa Jewell. I found it absolutely gripping, but would definitely put it in the easy reading category.
