Has anyone subscribed to Kindle First?

If you sign up you get a monthly email and the chance to buy a book, from a small selection, a month before publication for 99p. Apparently there's no obligation to buy.

It all sounds good but I was wondering if there is a small hidden catch I can't see. As it's quite new there's not much on the internet about it.

I don't think there is a catch. It is a just an offer, similar to their daily and monthly deals. I think the purpose is to promote new authors. This month I got this:

www.amazon.co.uk/Mermaids-Sister-Carrie-Anne-Noble-ebook/dp/B00LWDQO3Q/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1424795569&sr=1-1&keywords=the+mermaid%27s+sister

I read the free sample first and it seems quite good, but haven't got round to reading the rest of it yet!

If you are an Amazon Prime member, you can get one Kindle First book a month for free.

Thanks! There are some interesting books and it would be good to get them at the cheaper price.
