8 months on Ghazzah street- ending? confused (spoiler needed!)

loved this book, if love is the right term for such a sinister , creeping tale. but I am still confused and cant find any discussion around the confused ending

I dont understand about yasmine, did she try and kill her husband
and why was she in the car with the next door neighbours husband?

I suspect that the apartment upstairs was some level of dodgy prison/torture hidey hole

but I still cant figure out how both neighbours were involved

and I am guessing that they "got" them in the end, given the opening

This is my opinion after also being confused by the ending. It is not clear, any of it. It's not clear to the reader, and it's not clear to Frances. The authorities will never publicise what happened, and any sensible foreigner who happens to have information will keep his or her mouth well shut. The Saudis see no need for their foreign servants to be aware or involved. The reader will find no more sure footing than the characters.

I loved this book too. But I can't remember the ending.

I just found this thread and forgot that I started it !!!! So no one knows either
