Am ordering en masse from Amazon for Christmas so haven't actually read the new Clarice Bean book.

What do you think?

Anyone?

Cod, where are you?

my 7yo son loves it.

Are some of the earlier ones picture book style? The newest one is traditional 'novel' style with black and white pics.

Gillian76 · 23/10/2006 18:20

Some of them are picture book style but 3 of them are short novels. They are all fab! We started with the picture books and then progressed but we still buy all of the new picture books even though, at 9, dd2 is prob a bit old for them now.

Be warned that one of the books has a remark about Father Christmas - if the child in question still believes you may want to vet it first....

My ds had them at 8 - loved them. Still reads them as "comfort reading" now! Also try Judy Moody. Same sort of thing.
