Have you read it and can you come and chat with me please?
I finished it yesterday and have just passed it on to ds14 who is second guessing every plot twist correctly!?
Am I really gullible reader? I really enjoyed it and much of my enjoyment was from the slow realisation of what was going on.

Loved it and was not ahead of the plot, neither was DH. Ordering it for school library as they (teens) will love it.

I think DS is just too dystopia-literate! By page 12 he'd worked out that they were hungries swiftly followed by or are they hungry's children and that's why they're experimenting on them?!

Ooh Rose are you a school librarian?

I've read it and wasn't impressed. Fairly obvious where it was going quote early on.

CoteDAzur · 28/01/2015 22:24

It was awful. The badly-written story of feeeelingggs of looooove between a child zombie and her teacher. Full of juvenile truisms (like "You can't save people from the world. There's nowhere else to take them"). The sciencey bits made no sense. It's very clear where the story is going from the beginning and the author thinking he is being smart and concealing who the students are from the reader is just, well, sad.

I was quite upset that there was no mention of YA on the Amazon page although it very clearly is a YA novel. Not that I would wish this book on any teenager.

Blush That's soooo unfair! strop sulk, channels inner teenager

No. English teacher! But also seem to have aquired the library budget (heh, heh, heh!)

Seriouslyffs · 29/01/2015 10:45

How lovely! I'm fascinated in how and what teenagers read.

I loved it and teenage DD loved it too. I also teach English and am jealous of your library budget Rose Grin.

I got half way through and gave up for some reason I really didn't like it Hmm

5dogsgoswimming · 09/02/2015 09:45

I'd give it maybe a 7 out of ten. Took me about half the book to get into it properly. I didn't guess any of the twists. Won't read it again.
