Is 'Shark' by Will Self worth a read?

I love anything to do with water/the ocean - but it sounds a bit - not my usual taste.

Anyone want to go through it with me?

I'll definitely read it but I'm waiting for its Kindle version's price to drop. I read and loved Booker long listed Umbrella, to which Shark is a prequel.

By the way, I love love LOVE the way you chose to read a very unconventional (some might say disturbing) modernist novel about psychiatry & drugs that has no quotation marks or paragraphs because it's called "Shark' and you "love anything to do with water/the ocean" Grin

Grin I do! I am a bit terrified yet strangely fascinated with predatory animals generally truth be told - don't know why (I am veggie!)

I liked The Wasp Factory (thinking in terms of disturbing novels here, not trying to say wasps are predatory animals!)
