I've just finished this & loved it, but found it incredibly sad as the story unfolded.

Anyone else read it?

I keep meaning to finish it ... have got to where Silvia's husband bought the field.

The first few chapters didn't really engage me - is it worth persevering then?

I never did finish it either ... another one who didnt make it past the first few chapters.

I enjoyed it from the beginning, it takes a turn I didn't expect but I don't know if you'd enjoy it if you weren't hooked straight away.
