Anyone got any good suggestions for easy reading, not too schmaltzy (sp?) books that I get get stuck into?

I like thriller/twisty type books like Into the Darkest Corner and Apple Tree Yard, but also tear jerkers like Me Before You and funny books like Marian Keyes and Sophie Kinsella.

So pretty much anything with a good storyline as long as it's not too serious.

Have you read any Mhairi McFarlane? She's very funny and writes really well, but an easy read.

I'd not heard of her Mimsy, thanks for the suggestion. I've downloaded one of hers and will give it a go.

Any more? I am a fast reader so will get through a few in that time.

Still Alice is very thought provoking but easy to read.
I also enjoyed Spare Brides by Adele Parks recently.

Where'd you go Bernadette by Maria Semple. Funny, a little dark, heartwarming and quirky. Good non-trashy holiday read!
