What other similar authors do you enjoy?

My mum loves her books and I would like to get her a gift, but as I can't keep track of what she already owns/has read wondered if I could introduce her to someone new she might like.

She also likes some crime Wallander/Montalbano type things, Ruth Rendell, but she's very busy and likes something easy to follow.

I am a huge fan of Carole Matthews - have read every single one of her books - other authors I enjoy that are fairly similar include Christina Jones, Jill Mansell, Catherine Alliott, Trisha Ashley, Cathy Kelly, Sheila O'Flanagan, Milly Johnson, Jenny Colgan and Chrissie Manby (sometimes just Chris Manby on earlier books). Your mum won't go wrong with those authors!

Those are all really good ideas, I've seen a couple of those of my mum's bookshelves whatsbehindthegreendoor so definitely barking up the right tree!

There are several I hadn't come across and so have had a good Google and have found some I think she'd really like. Cathy Kelly and Milly Johnson look especially her type of thing, so going to treat her to a couple.
