The Bone Clocks - David Mitchell. Plough on?

Not enjoying this, finding the musings of the runaway 80's teen very unrealistic and facile. Shall I plough on , does it improve? It was expensive to buy, so feel I have to persevere. What do other readers think?

I loved Cloud Atlas and will read this one too, as it sounds similar in theme and style. David Mitchell is brilliant - I would persevere.

Am just over half way through. Finding it hugely entertaining and funny.

The musings of the runaway teen are only 1/6 of the book - it moves onto other people's stories, though the same characters pop up in each other's narratives.

Have just started listening to the the abridged version of this on Radio 4's Book at Bedtime. I've listened to the first week's episodes, no clear idea of what's going on yet but it does seem so far to be enjoyable. Looking forward to the next week's episodes.

Having finished it, I have to say it takes a turn for the peculiar. The first four narratives are entertaining, with a hint of weirdness. The fifth narrative is about a war between two sets of immortal beings, one group being essentially benign, and the other being pretty nasty. I can't honestly say I could make much sense of it.
