Anyone with audible?

Must say I do like audible.

I listen on the long commute to work and really grateful for it.

But I know have a stack of 8 to go and lots of credits to spend.

If you cancel do you loose all your books?

I quite like the sound of the Dublin Murder Squad series by Tana French but will have to save them for another time. I'm using my credits on the Shardlake series by C J Sansom this time Smile

Have you tried Kate Atkinson's crime novels?

FiveHoursSleep · 24/08/2015 10:19

Just finished Pretty Girls by Karen Slaughter. I'm not sure about the story or the narration, it was okay but a bit gruesome for me :(
I need some more recommendations though. Has anyone listened to anything good recently?

LumpySpacedPrincess · 24/08/2015 14:11

I joined audible last month, mainly so I can get Dorothy Dunnett's books in audible versions. Not sure if anyone has mentioned it upthread but you can borrow audiobooks and ebooks from your library, you just need a library card and the Overdrive app. Smile

I am a huge audible fan and I'd bet that I have the biggest library of anyone here. I joined in 2000 and I have had at least 2 books a month every month since then.

Currently I'm gorging on The Great Courses (just search for them, they are brilliant). My favourites so far are 'London: A short history of the greatest city in the western world' and 'Big History: The Big Bang, Life on Earth, and the Rise of Humanity'

Fiction wise I am about half way through The Wheel of Time. If anyone loves both Game of Thrones and really long listens they should have a go. Played back to back you are talking weeks of listening by the time you reach the end! On the other hand it's really good value. The shortest book in the series is 20+ hours and they are a credit each!

Just lsitened to A Far Cry From Kensington by Muriel Spark. Wonderful!

Just wanted to pick this up, as am now amassing a few cheap audible credits so will be scouring for recommendations (and keep them coming if you've got any updates please!)

I can't believe no one has mentioned Diana Gabaldon and her Outlander series. Hours and hours of pure joy.

FiveHoursSleep · 20/06/2016 08:58

I know this is an old thread but I believe the recommendations are still relevant.
I need a new audible book, has anyone listened to anything good recently?

reviving again to say today's audible deal is 1Q84 for £2.99

fatowl · 19/12/2016 09:40

40% of everything in Audible until 31st Dec if anyone fancies treating themselves, and today's daily deal is The Muse for 99p

MINEareCRAFTy · 06/09/2020 14:17

Are there different levels of membership? Id quite like more than one credit a month 😳

ChessieFL · 07/09/2020 18:23

Hi @MINEareCRAFTy yes there are - you can choose a 2 credit per month membership, or if you can afford to pay upfront you can get annual memberships for either 12 or 24 credits. If you go to My Account on the desktop site (not mobile) you should be able to see the different options.

MINEareCRAFTy · 07/09/2020 18:46

Thanks @ChessieFL , will take a look
