Best device for listening to Audible audio books?

I've recently discovered the joy of audio books and have started an account with Audible. I've downloaded my first book, 'The Goldfinch' onto my old Sandisk MP3 player, and am loving it. Only problem is, the book has downloaded as 4 massive 8-hour parts: there is no way of winding back if I miss a bit (I have a tendancy to fall asleep at night whilst listening...)

This means I need to start the whole 8 hour section again. Does a device exist which can rewind until I find the exact section I want? I don't have a smartphone - would rather buy a more sophisticated MP3 player or a dedicated audio book player, if such a thing exists. Any recommendations? Smile

I have a second hand ipod touch 3rd generation and it is fab for Audible books - because it has a "go to sleep" function - i.e. it will automatically go into sleep mode after 8/15/30 minutes (depending on where you set it). If I use it to go to sleep it is still easy to go back to where I was as it is straightforward to rewind through a chapter.
I have become a big fan of Audible books - though do tend to try and buy the longest possible. I really enjoyed the Way of Kings books - 2 so far, fantasy novels weighing in at 45 hours each!

I alternate between my iPod Shuffle and my iPod Nano. I prefer the Nano for its larger memory, and its easier to pause and rewind.

Veteran audibler here - have used a Sansa clip or clip plus which are brilliant. Not sure what sandisk player you have but I find them relatively cheap, well set up for audiobooks (set in Chapter mode) including a sleep function, and easy to clip onto your clothes so your books travel with you.

I am listening always on my phone.
I have S5 and never had any problems, I am using earphones to listen to all my audible books.

Yes, phone. I use either the smart audio book player or listen audio book player. Very easy to just go back a little bit without having to go as far as you said with the mp3 player. I have a Samsung android, both apps are in the play store.
