Is there a simple way to find the free Kindle classics on Amazon or do I need to go via a site like Project Gutenberg?

If you're on Facebook (and possibly even if not) you can subscribe to Kindofbook and they send you a list every day of free and cheap kindle titles. A lot are self-published nonsense but there are normally a few gems every week.

I subscribe to EreaderIQ which tells you the price drops, 99p deals and the free books.

If you join bookbub.com you get sent all the free and cheap books on a daily basis for all the genres you specify.
