Just saying Grin
Can't recall title but will get it on kindle later.
I think I'm the only person who liked The Slap on here.

I loved the slap.
The new one is barracuda, which I also enjoyed.

cromwell44 · 04/08/2014 11:49

I loved the Slap too. I'll look out for the new one as I'm pleased to hear it was enjoyed by a fellow Slap fan. Smile

MrsDavidBowie · 04/08/2014 13:47

At least there are 3 of us!

5! But I wasn't that impressed by Barracuda.

wanttosinglikemarycoughlan · 05/08/2014 19:50

I didn't think the slap had any fans so news to me
It was one of the few books I didn't finish, I just didn't care about any if the characters

efeslight · 05/08/2014 20:17

I quite liked it too!

AnnField · 05/08/2014 20:18

I didn't enjoy The Slap but Barracuda was very good.

Annietheacrobat · 05/08/2014 20:23

I enjoyed the Slap. I don't think you were meant to like any of the characters.

TryingToBePractical · 05/08/2014 20:26

I liked the concept of the slap but not the actual book - did not like any of the characters. Preferred barracuda but could been 100 pages shorter.

PistolWhipped · 05/08/2014 20:34

I loved The Slap! I really enjoyed the telly version, too (Melissa George was ace as Hugo's mum). What's Barracuda about?

ShanghaiDiva · 06/08/2014 12:28

We can form a 'slap lovers' quiche!

JimmyCorkhill · 06/08/2014 19:55

ShanghaiDiva I think that sounds really kinky Grin

MrsDavidBowie · 06/08/2014 20:01

Ooh a kinky quiche!
Where do I sign up?

AuntieBrenda · 07/08/2014 16:18

I loved the slap. Bought the DVD of the series as well. I started barracuda and got to halfway point and it just put me in such a bad downer of a mood I had to stop. I will go back to it though, really rate the author (whose name I can't spell so won't attempt to write!)

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 12/08/2014 16:05

Thank you, it's on my 'to avoid' listWink

JimmyCorkhill · 14/08/2014 09:23

DameDiazepam Grin

For us kinky slap lovers Wink, I bought Barracuda last night for the Kindle and it was under £3! Interesting so far too.

sarahandFuck · 14/08/2014 22:16

Barracuda was quite good, a bit more 'gentle' than The Slap, if gentle is the right word.

Some of the characters in Barracuda are at least more easily sympathised with.

JimmyCorkhill · 20/08/2014 14:22

I've almost finished Barracuda. Like The Slap, it's not an easy read. I had to keep putting it down because I didn't want to know what happened next. I really sympathise with the main character and I can't stop wishing I could go into the book and change events. I think the author is great for creating situations/characters that are uncomfortable but realistic. Top marks from me again.
