It is so slow going, I'm about 75% on my kindle is it worth ploughing on to the end? It's taken me about 6 weeks, which is unheard of for me!

I loved it. Listened to the audiobook and was gripped. One of my favourite books of this year so far. But if you're not enjoying it, stop. Maybe try again another time.

Sometimes books just aren't a good fit for that time but work better another time. I see it as an Autumn or Winter read as it's disturbing and deliciously creepy.

I might soldier on, as I hate bailing on books. I think it is because it seems like a book I should be reading in front of a roaring fire. I started it on holiday in Turkey so a bit different! I have the TV adaptation saved to watch on my sky+.

I really enjoyed it. But like you said it is a 'winter' book. The TV adaptation is quite good, it got the settings and atmosphere right. Again I would save it and watch it in winter.

I watched it last night. On the dark. On my own.

I do not recommend that!

I read this a couple of years ago and loved it

You have to finish it! It has a twist!

NoSnowJustSand · 16/08/2014 19:27

I read it in December 2011 according to goodreads and I can't remember the plot at all! Vaguely got the sisters bit and lots of comings and goings via a garden gate.

I read it after I had seen it at Christmas - I wish I had read before watching, but I did really enjoy the writing and the slow burn of it....I agree with those saying it's a winter book though!
