MilkandCereal · 30/07/2014 20:09

Do you know if it'd make sense if you haven't read the first book?

I really enjoyed the first one (much better than the Casual Vacancy which I couldn't be bothered to finish), so am looking forward to this one now.

NellVarnish · 30/07/2014 21:00

Ooh thanks so much, I enjoyed the first one. Just downloaded.

Thanks
Southeastdweller · 31/07/2014 08:23

Thank you for the heads-up - just purchased this as was waiting for it to go down in price Smile.

RumAppleGinger · 31/07/2014 09:22

Thanks for this. Read the first and thought it was ok but really liked Comoran Strike as a character so will stick with the series and see how it goes.

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 31/07/2014 09:44

It is nowhere near as good as the first one. :(

Burmama · 31/07/2014 09:47

Milk, I just read it and hadn't read first one. Could not put it down, enjoy.

JamForTea · 31/07/2014 09:50

I got both of these on this recommendation - have started on the first and enjoying it so far. I didn't manage to finish The Casual Vacancy either.

MegTheCat · 31/07/2014 09:58

Thanks for that - just bought it.

I've just read the first 2 chapters (kindle sample) and it looks like all necessary background information is provided so you wouldn't have to have read (or remember) the first one.

magimedi · 31/07/2014 13:03

Many thanks - was not prepared to pay £6 for it!

Johnogroats · 31/07/2014 13:06

Thanks have bought it. Checked the other day and thought would wait for a deal!

VanillaHoney · 31/07/2014 13:31

Not just me then who loathes paying full price for a kindle book.
