I just re-read Meg Rosoff's The Bride's Farewell...

...And boy, that book rocks.

It's better than How I Live Now (and I love How I Live...).

It didn't do much at all for me, tbh. I think she's got worse and worse - 'How I Live Now' was okay, but I haven't read another of hers that I've liked (and have read them all but won't bother with any more).

God, I loved HILN, wondering if I can do a third read this summer or if I need to give it another couple of years.

The rest keep me turning pages, but she set the bar so high that it would always be hard to live up to with later books

I liked Bride better than HILN. Didn't enjoy Just in Case or the Dog one, but loved the other one, set on the coast in Norfolk/Suffolk? (Name escapes me).

Hated Justin Case and the coastal one ended up really annoying me, after a promising start - have also forgotten the title.
