Just wondered if anyone's read her new book. I read the first 2 and thought they were really good and very compelling. Don't want to splash out on the hardback new one though if it doesn't match up to the first 2.

It is worth reading, it is different in heart to her first two - but equally poignant
I gave mine to my mum or I would have posted it to you!

I loved the first one but was disappointed with the second one. I'll wait for the new one to come out in paperback.

I read the second one first and thought it was lousy. Still read the first one which was certainly better. I'd wait 'til I saw it in a charity shop myself.

Batters, have occasionally found with new authors that even though debut album can be great, if they start churning them out the rest can be rubbish. Was a bit dubious when i bought the second book as they do seem to be coming thick & fast.

Aww, thanks kiwisbird. Did you enjoy both the first 2 then? I was surprised that other people here didn't enjoy the second one because I really did. I must admit that the first one really did pull at my heart strings but then I was pregnant and v. emotional. The second one was different but equally compelling I thought.

Am reading the first one, right now - v good.

fisil · 03/04/2004 15:28

I thought they were both OK and will read the 3rd one when it comes into the 3 for 2 pile.

Pinchy · 05/04/2004 09:54

I found the third one better than the second one but not as good as the first. I bought the hardback as I'm too impatient!

My Lover's Lover is free with Red magazine this month. An excuse for me to buy the magazine, another book!

Is that one of the ones you are talking about?

Evita · 06/04/2004 21:21

Yes, Paula. It's a good story, keeps you on your toes with curiosity. But her first book is a real tear-jerking piece of brilliance. Think I may invest in the 3rd one now.
