Recommendations for lighthearted holiday reading in France

I always like to read novels set wherever we go on holiday and this year, we are heading to France. On my hols, I like to read something fairly lighthearted. Last year, MNers recommended a Michael Frayn novel and a Maeve Binchy one for our hols in Greece and they were perfect.

So, what can you all recommend for my travels this year, please?

Just thought I'd give this a little Saturday morning bump - anyone?!

Hurrah! Oh, it's such a good way to get to know a place, reading books set in location! Here are my suggestions

Lighthearted it is:

Are we nearly there yet? by Ben Hatch (he sets off with his family around France - if you know France you will spot lots of quirks!)

L'Auberge by Julia Stagg is wonderfully entertaining for the Pyrenees

A Year in the Merde by Stephen Clark Paris as you (don't) know it...

Croissants and Jam by Lynda Renham www.tripfiction.com/books/croissants-and-jam/

French Revolutions by Tim Moore is a few years old now but it's still one of the funniest books I have ever read Smile

I read French Children Don't Throw Food last year - it's quite interesting and mildly funny, but perhaps only of interest to those with youngish children?
Something by Joanne Harris? Chocolat etc?

Oooh, lovely. These sound fab. Thank you very much all - I'll check them all out!
