don't know if there is another thread about this - kind of thought there would be but can't find it as yet.

i read it a few weeks ago and was very disappointed - thought it was fairly crap overall! anyone else read it?

I agree. Pretty run-of-the-mill. Really didn't like Kamryn. Thought Tegan was very one-dimensional. Didn't think that the relationship between Luke and Tegan developed in a believeable way. Generally naff. Will be going to charity.

Aaaah just given up on The Historian and started this book instead.
Are any of the R & J summer reads worth reading?
I did read one of last year's choice The Laments and really enjoyed that. Can't remember who by and MIL has the book at the mo.

Oh how very bizarre I was just this very minute about to start a thread saying did anyone want to swop this for something else? I read the first bit and couldn't cope after the description of the way the little girl had been treated. I am offering mine up for swaps if anyone is interested email me on frannyandzooey at india dot com

I am reading this and finding it quite good at the mo.....I too, did not like the child abuse bits, I I find them very hard to read.

I see this thread has come up again - just wanted to say my copy has been sent on to another MNer already, sorry if anyone else was interested

I thought it was a crappy read too, didn't really want to finish it, but had to as I hate leaving books half read. It was sooooo sooo predictable, and badly written imho.
