Any key know any good holiday reads set in Canada?

Long shot, I know but we are off to Canada for 3 weeks soon (excited much???!) and I like to read at least one book set in the place I'm travelling in.

Can any of you lovely people recommend anything set in Canada? Preferably Alberts or British Colombia?

I particularly like a good thriller / crime fiction but am open to any suggestions.

Robertson Davies is an interesting writer who is Canadian. Bit bonkers but fun.

A children's book...but Anne of Green Gables

I love Alice Munro's short stories.

A Tale For The Time Being by Ruth Ozeki. Beautiful book by a Japanese-Canadian set in BC.

The tenderness of wolves by Stef Penney.

Oh fugitive pieces is a beautiful haunting book partially based in Canada - Anne Michaels is the author.

Not a light read but truly memorable.

The Tenderness of Wolves by Stef Penney is pretty good. Or Margaret Jennings' series Murdoch Mysteries (as on TV).

Shipping News by Annie Proulx is set in Newfoundland.

'Y' by Marjorie Celona, it's set on Vancouver Island British Colombia. The title is very clever and it's a gripping story about a young girl's quest to find out about her past. You'll cry.

Oh, please read all Mary Lawson's books. They are amazing.

Have a look at The Horseman's Graves, by my neighbour - Jacqueline Baker. Set in Saskatchewan, but written in BC, LOL!

Also, I really hope we get some torrential rain soon so that you can actually get to see some of our beautiful country!! At the moment I can barely see the mountains (see my photos for how close they are) for all the smoke from huge wildfires that are raging in BC and across the border in AB... :(
