Getting back into it

Between 2007 - 2009 I was doing a masters degree while working full time and just stopped reading anything non-degree related. I went from devouring books to absolutely nothing for over FIVE years.

I recently picked up my (barely touched) kindle and started reading Far North by Marcel Theroux. I share an account with DH so it was just there to read - no other reason than that - randomly chosen. I'm slowly getting back into the groove of reading for pleasure and I'm hunting around for next reads.

So, what have I missed in the last 5 or so years that's a must read? Any suggestions?

5 years? That's a lot of catching up to do! How about starting off with Song of Achilles, winner of the Orange Prize in 2012 I think.
