Already hooked.

And DH has left me all alone this weekend to go on a stag. Oh no. Poor me. Guess I'll just have to read all evening! GrinGrinGrinGrin

Lucky you. Haven't read it for years - think its due a reread!

WowOoo · 24/05/2014 08:55

I think I may have to re-read it too.
I can't really remember much about it - but I remember that I thought it was fantastic. Smile

LadyOfLlangollen · 24/05/2014 09:07

It's a great read. I really enjoyed it.

daimbardiva · 24/05/2014 09:13

Haven't read this for years but would still say it was oneof my ffavourite books ever. I hope you enjoy it! I must dig it out and reread it.

NeedaDiscoNap · 24/05/2014 09:22

I'm jealous! One of my favourite books of all time. Enjoy!

AttitudeOfGratitude · 24/05/2014 23:42

It's really excellent, one of my favourites. Enjoy! I bought The Goldfinch cheaply for my Kindle in December - not sure when I'll get the chance to read it as I had DC1 in January Wink

MoreBoober · 25/05/2014 00:06

I'm reading it for the first time too. I read The Goldfinch recently too Grin

AttitudeOfGratitude · 25/05/2014 01:32

Did you enjoy Goldfinch More? I see it's had very mixed reviews on here

daimbardiva · 26/05/2014 20:36

I read The Goldfinch - I really enjoyed it, I would love to read again. The end is great and really unusual. I'd highly recommend it ( just to show I'm not a Donna Tartt fanatic, I didnt really like 'the little friend'

ChillieJeanie · 27/05/2014 17:43

The Secret History is brilliant, but like daimbardiva I can't say I liked The Little Friend. Haven't tried The Goldfinch yet.

Cherrypi · 28/05/2014 21:32

Ah loved this book. Read it in my final year of uni after exams under a tree next to a boy I adored.

DameDiazepamTheDramaQueen · 01/06/2014 21:07

I gave up on it. I was so disappointed.

JesusInTheCabbageVan · 01/06/2014 21:10

Oh, it's amazing. One of those books I wish I hadn't read, so I could read it... iykwim

I loved The Secret History, and THe Goldfinch, but agree with the others. Couldn't get on with her second book at all and gave up on it.

BringMeTea · 23/06/2014 19:07

Jealous. One of those books I wish I hadn't read so I could do it all again. Mind you, it was 20 years ago(!) I read it so maybe it wouldn't resonate now. That thought actually makes me sad. I will re-read to ascertain.
