Yup even beats The Goldfinch and it's tedious ending

I can't stand dull books.

No, The Luminaries is certainly not dull. It is a very elaborate, beautifully constructed story. Great characters. Really good book.

On the subject of dull books, I give you Wolf Hall. It's sucking the will to live out of me at the moment.

I've never wanted to read it. Don't do historical fic.

I've read the undertaking and dipped into everydaysexism book but sheesh it's depressing. So have started "eleven days". My mum started the undertaking and agreed it's very compelling.

The luminaries. Is it written like that the whole way? Too. Many. Words.

Long books always have rather too many words Grin

I am 50 pages into The Goldfinch and not too impressed so far and also have The Shock of the Fall checked out from the library. I hope I'm not in for a double disappointment. The Luminaries was wonderful though. Slow start but a terrific story once you get into it. Now I must put The Undertaking on my list.

Ok. Will try again with luminary
