On kindle today, It was recommended on here a while ago and it has been on my watchlist ever since waiting for the price to fall. It's Pride and Prejudice written from the servants' POV.

Thank you - had this on my wishlist too. Glad I waited!!

WillieWaggledagger · 26/02/2014 13:04

i got it from the library and it was very enjoyable. i saw some criticisms on amazon that it wasn't like jane austen's writing - IMO it's not supposed to be (and trying to be like her is one of the main reasons why sequels to P&P have been so awful i think). it's not perfect but i did very much enjoy it and the detail is excellent

SaltyGoodness · 26/02/2014 17:16

Thanks superscribbler - was looking for something new to read. Looks good.

OnTheBottomWithAWomansWeekly · 26/02/2014 17:23

Just ordered it, will be reading it on my phone on the train home - thanks!

BornToFolk · 26/02/2014 17:24

Oooh, thanks! I've had my eye on that for a while.

Campaspe · 26/02/2014 19:17

Have read this book; it's gripping and brilliant. Definitely worth it for 99p.

Allalonenow · 26/02/2014 21:31

Thanks very much for that SS.

I see that Apple Tree Yard by Louise Doughty is also 99p today, it gets good reviews.

janesnowdon1 · 27/02/2014 11:03

grrr! Bought this on Tuesday evening at £3.49!! It is enjoyable - a very easy read (great because I have a very bad cold). It has already been snapped up for a movie/series apparently.

DuchessofMalfi · 27/02/2014 11:48

Janesnowdon1 If you bought it on Kindle, you can return it for a refund and then buy it again at 99p.

janesnowdon1 · 28/02/2014 13:40

Great idea

Patilla · 28/02/2014 13:43

Thanks for this, I was just looking for something to read

WhereBeThatBlackbirdTo · 28/02/2014 13:48

Thanks so much for this.

I ordered it from the library for £1 reservation fee but could only keep it for 3 weeks. I was only half way through but had to return it for someone else who had ordered it (someone else from MN perhaps who heard about it on the thread I found it on!)

Anyway - now I can finish it!

Thank you again Thanks

Seems to be at £2 now. How did I miss this? It has been on my wishlist for ages. £2 still cheaper than previous price though (£3.something).

FetchezLaVache · 28/02/2014 21:19

Blatantly marking my place so I don't forget about this completely by the time my Kindle's charged up! Thanks for the heads up, SS.

NadiaWadia · 01/03/2014 00:26

Now back at 99p. Amazon are so weird with their pricing. I bought it at £2.00 within the last 2-3 hours, as I still thought that was a good price and thought I'd missed the boat for the 99p offer. It has not even been downloaded to my Kindle yet, as that is not switched on. So now I have 'returned' it for a refund and will reorder at 99p in a second. If they haven't changed it again.

Why do they do this? Have they got armies of clerical staff changing the prices on everything at random or what? And why?

Allalonenow · 01/03/2014 00:32

The White Princess (Philippa Gregory) is 99p ATM, check price before you click as they seem to be tinkering with the prices.

NadiaWadia · 01/03/2014 00:48

Thanks for that, still 99p for now!

DuchessofMalfi · 01/03/2014 04:32

Thanks for that Alkaline. Have been waiting for a price drop on this one to complete my set Smile

Bought it. Thanks so much.

NadiaWadia · 02/03/2014 00:09

'The White Princess' has now gone up to £3.32. 'Longbourn' still 99p, though.

StarsAbove · 02/03/2014 09:47

Thanks, I think I'll enjoy this.
