The Lemon Grove set in Deià

This is published this month and there is a lot of Twitter chat about it being THE Summer read. It certainly bowls along, with a right raunchy Mrs Robinson at the heart of it. Would be interested to hear what Mumsnetters think of it and especially the ending...(gorgeous for locale if you know Mallorca, it will absolutely transport you there!)

I kind of agree. I enjoyed the setting and the fact that she got her comeuppance in the end (though I could see it for a mile off that she would be caught out).

I gave up halfway through. I found it boring and it made me slightly angry.
What kind of mother goes out of her way to seduce her daughter's boyfriend?
(That's why I found it difficult to relate to the main character). I don't care how middle-age and invisible and horny you are - some places are off limits.

I thought it was a load of tosh. Jenn comes across as predatory and creepy.

No amount of descriptions of Deia get over the fact that you really couldn't care less what happens to any of the characters

Goodness knows why this book got so much hype. As watchingthedetectives says "a load of tosh"!

I hated this book. It had promise - but it went downhill very rapidly. Don't get the hype at all!
