I love the above and also Martina Cole and Rachel Caine but could do with a new series to start reading. Have also recently read the beautiful Creatures and Mortal Instruments books and did like them but now I am running out of ideas on where to go next.

Anyone got any suggestions?

Thanks

Hi

I've just finished the first book in a series by Katia Lief which reminded me a little of Karen Rose's style. The name of the first book is "You are Next".

Also, Lisa Gardner, Tess Gerritsen and Richard Montanari might be worth a look.

Just ordered the Katia Lief ones - they look like my sort of read - thanks

Mo Hayder?
Birdman is the first one.

Thanks everyone - I will give them a go. I hate running out of books to read and I'm sure the bloke in Waterstones thinks I am a bit of a weirdo when I go and ask Grin

Have you read any Stuart MacBride? His books are crime thrillers, there's a series starting Logan Macrae and a couple of stand alone books.

I love them, mostly because they're set locally to me so I can picture the places in them exactly but they are excellent books.

Love Tim Weaver..
Vanished was great,as was Chasing the Dead

chirpchirp · 07/02/2014 15:49

Lin Anderson's Rhona McLeod series. Think the first one is Driftnet. Her wiki page suggests that these are being made into a TV series too.

Loolah · 09/02/2014 22:29

If you like Martina Cole, Jessie Keane and some of Kimberly Chambers are similar

Cocolepew · 09/02/2014 22:40

Alafair Burke writes about a NYPD female detective, she's very readable.
Chelsea Cains last book didn't get a British publusher,I was well pissed off.

mrssmith79 · 09/02/2014 22:46

Beverley Barton.

DipDabDabDip · 09/02/2014 22:47

Cocolepew · 09/02/2014 22:51

Only early Patricia Cornwall, before she disappeared up her own arse Grin.
Some Lynda La Plant are good and Val Mcdermid.

MrsBungle · 09/02/2014 22:53

Agree re early Patricia Cornwall.

MR hall - jenny cooper series is good
Kerry wilkinson - Jessica Daniel series is alright too
Lee child - jack reacher series

Floggingmolly · 09/02/2014 22:57

Tess Gerritsen?

bookishandblondish · 09/02/2014 23:00

Kathryn Fox is good

irishe · 09/02/2014 23:11

I like author mark billingham's detective Thorne series, uk based. The first one is sleepyhead, think there are 11 in total, so would keep you going a while.

Hiphopopotamus · 09/02/2014 23:17

Definitely Tess Gerritsen - read from 'The Surgeon' onwards. They are great reads.

Also, maybe Lisa Gardner?

FarelyKnuts · 09/02/2014 23:17

Tami Hoag is worth a read as well.

tiredandsadmum · 09/02/2014 23:43

I like Jeffrey Deaver: Lincoln Rhyme

Also for light relief - JD Robb - Death series with Lt Eve Dallas

Also PJ Tracy
