If you have a Kindle does it make you buy more books, and how many do you have to read on it?

I'm terrible, I buy far too many books for it, I've currently got 95 in my 'to be read' list. I'm always looking at which ones are 99p and if I think I might like it I usually think oh I'll buy it. (This is over a year or so though). I've got a pile of 'physical' books to read too, just not as many!

About 40 in my 'to read' pile, but a lot of them are crapy romances that were free and I just downloaded in case I was ever in the mood!

I do buy more for it, though. Particularly with the free books and the 99p specials. More than I'd buy if they were actual book!

Yes, I have 576 books at the moment, and I've read about half.
I also have a 'to read' shelf with about two dozen books on it.
No shame though, just an occasional croon over my lovely hoard.

Yes, I've definitely read lots more,it's just so easy with the "one-click" thing and so tempting. Got to be a good thing,though...more people reading!

Yes, I buy loads more, but they're mostly cheap.
I've had mine just over a year, bought about 100 of which around 20 are yet to read.
I've started to be strict with myself about only being allowed to buy another at full price (or, say, over £3 as opposed to max £1.50) once I've read 10 more.
I have read an awful lot more thanks to my lovely Kindle.

I agree it's a good thing. I probably read a better variety of books now, as I think well if it is 99p and I don't like it that much it's not much money wasted. My Mum shares my Kindle account too, so whatever I buy she can read too, so even more of a bargain.

I've never spent more than £1.99, and a significant number of the books are classics that I either wanted to re-read, or felt I should, and most of them were free.

I have loads! I get daily emails from 2 sites which have free or very cheap books on, 99p sounds quite expensive! Quite addictive really. I've probably read or part read about a quarter of them and like some of the others have about 20 real books waiting to be read.
Quite a lot of my books are non fiction so just dip in and out of them really. Still prefer a real book though..

SilverApples you have to set both your kindles up to the same Amazon account, so my Mums kindle is classed as my second kindle. It means my Mum can download any books I have bought via the archived items. If my Mum bought a book on hers the money comes out of my account, but it's a good way of sharing books. You can even do it temporarily by having both kindles set to the same account then you can change it back to individual accounts.

i've got over 100 books on mine, and i agree the 1-click thing is terrible for impulse buys.

i love 'real' books and still have a pile to catch up on, but i love my kindle too, so much.

I have 809 books to read on my kindle. . Every time I get down in numbers, I go on the web and suddenly not only have I got the same number of books back, I've got more too! I've only paid for around 40 books ever and that includes the sh1t ton in my archive :D

yes definitely makes you read more. I bought one (for DS) at Christmas. I have read more since then than for the rest of the year. I love it.

I tend to buy books only when they are free or cheaper than they would be in paperback. I use my library a great deal as well.

I do delete books from my Kindle account if I've read them & know I will never re read them.

I share the account with DH's kindle - which is great as there are quite often books we both want to read.

If I really, really love a book I will quite often end up buying a 'hard' copy of it as well.

I check Daily Deal most days & also look at 'Kindle discussions' as there are a couple of threads there where people monitor price drops & 99p books. Some discounts only seem to last a couple of days so it is worth checking often.
