"This Boy" Alan Johnson

Just wondering if anyone has read this. I read it in two days over Christmas and found it really moving. He was only born 18 years before me and I grew up in London too but our lives were so, so different. Shocking that people lived like this so very recently.

Not read it but I'm on the look out for a good book. What type of book is it?

I read a terrific review of it a while back and it's on my To Read list.

It's just his memoirs of his life up to the age of 18. Nothing about his political career but just a portrait of working class London life. V interesting especially if you know what Notting Hill is like now.

I like him as a politician he seems v principled,Book in my to read pile
