Have you read it? Dh got me it as a gift, don't know if I would have chosen it as I don't always like things in the style of, and PG Wodehouse is one of my favourite authors. But as it was here I read it. I can sort of see why as a fan himself S. Faulks wanted to write this, i often wish Wodehouse had written a few more Jeeves books and set them in slightly different situations so I did hope it would be ok. Well it is ok and in one way it was nice to revisit the world of Jeeves and Wooster and quite a good book.
But I'm afraid it is not PG Wodehouse, the set pieces are not as funny and it hasn't got that amazing light touch and perfectly written dialogue that makes the original books so good. Sebastian Faulks says in his intro that he wasn't trying to exactly write in the same style as he knew this wouldn't work. He does sound a bit Woosterish, but there is something missing.
I won't tell you the ending but i didn't approve. In one way I liked it and it was nice, but in another I felt it was too big a change to the original stories.
