Nell, if you're halfway through it and are enjoying it then no it won't be. I was getting more and more annoyed with it but the ending itself is not inappropriate to the book. It is better than The Little Friend .

On endings not a bad one as such but has anyone read Charles Pallliser's The Quincunx and if so, what does the ending mean? Who was John's father?

Thank you for this. Just downloaded goldfinch. I have already read the new bridget jones and it really wasn't great, bit of a disappointment but I would say still alright for a couple of quid for anyone who enjoyed the previous ones.
