A German novelist I believe...a psychological thriller about a missing girl, her father and a potentially schizophrenic patient, set on an isolated island in the North Sea.
Very good indeed.

Sounds right up my street. Going to download it now.

In return can I recommend Cold Hands by John J Niven. Was one of my favourite from this year.

Have just finished it. It is amazing to see the story evolve through fragmented vision (doesn't the cover do justice to the storyline?). I really wanted to know how it would end, which is always the sign of a gripping book - a quick read.

I loved this book, I read it in 2 days.

I have also read Splinter, which is just as good.
